Travel Exercises – Looking Ripped

As much as we all love to travel, it always seems to throw a wrench in our training progress.

So I thought it was time for an article on travel exercises, to help you get ripped and stay ripped while on the road.

Whether you’re on a vacation, visiting family, or traveling on business, these tips will help you feel your best and look great in those vacation photos.

Preparing for Travel

Before I get to the travel exercises, the one thing I always do before traveling is prepare. How? By hitting the gym hard before I go. This means getting in a full workout for each muscle group in the week before I leave, and sometimes an extra or two if I can.

I also make sure that I work out on the 3-4 days before leaving, if my schedule permits. This can be really helpful, because it allows you to think of the first couple days of travel as rest days. And if your trip is a short one, this can cover you until you get back.

But for longer trips, you want to make sure you at least maintain your fitness progress. Remember, in order to maintain for a week or two, you don’t need to get in full workouts. In most cases, working out at one third the volume and intensity will prevent any reversal.

Travel Exercises for Looking Ripped

For all of these exercises, all you need is your body weight or a good set of resistance bands, which are super easy to travel with. I’d recommend purchasing these Adjustable Resistance Toning Tubes.

For all of these exercises, I recommend at least 3 sets of 15 reps or working until exhaustion.

Flexibility Training

Traveling is also a great time to work on your flexibility training. Whether it’s basic stretching or yoga (consider bringing a DVD), flexibility training can be done anywhere and will keep you looking toned.

Cardio

Cardio’s an easy one while you’re away. You can easily go for a run or a long walk, or invest in the LCD Digital Jump Rope for some intense cardio in your room. If there’s a gym where you’re staying, take advantage of it, or use the stairs!

Protein for Maintenance

Another key to maintaining your fitness level while away is consuming adequate amounts of protein. I always make sure I travel with a daily supply of my favorite protein supplement, Gaspari Nutrition Myofusion. One shake every morning will help maintain your strength training efforts.

Travel Exercises Conclusion

So there you have it. These travel exercises should keep you ripped and fit while you’re away from home. Remember, get creative, and consider using luggage or other items for resistance.
