How to Lose Water Weight Fast
If you are wondering how to lose water weight fast then you are not alone. Some people retain water in such a way that their bodies appear bloated and heavier than they actually are.
The fact is that our bodies are about 70 percent water but our muscles are closer to 75 percent water and our fat cells are about 50 percent water. That’s a whole lot of water right?
Losing water weight fast might seem counter-productive to overall health but the truth is that your focus should always be about balance and preventing yourself of thinking that too much of a good thing (in this case water) is not bad.
Learning How to Lose Water Weight Fast
When you are trying to learn how to lose water weight fast one of the most important thing to concentrate on is actually your diet and not your water consumption. Certain foods contribute to high levels of water retention.
Have a guess at what these foods are already?
You will need to avoid foods that have too much sugar, salt, or not enough B-vitamins. When we have too much of any of these then our body retains water to try and balance it out.
We can also look puffy because of water retention if we aren’t getting enough of the proteins (amino acids) our body needs to function at full capacity. Protein is the building block of our muscles, skin and all our organs so it is vitally important to make sure we have at least 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight each day and especially when we are training. This is another reason why supplementing with a high quality whey protein like Optimum 100% NATURAL Whey is so important.
Furthermore, if you are someone that tends to hold on to water weight you will want to start checking food labels and make sure that the sodium (salt) content is low. Salt is one of the main culprits for people with water weight issues.
The craziest salt culprits include: soups, crackers/chips, salted nuts, cold cuts, sauces and cheese, so play close attention!
Foods that Help to Lose Water Weight Fast
Like there are foods that contribute to water retention, there are foods that help to eliminate excess water. Introducing these foods and elements into your everyday meals is another way in which you can lose water weight fast.
Learning how to lose water weight fast will mean that you find recipes that include foods like asparagus, artichokes, cabbage, brussel sprouts, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, oats, watercress, and watermelon.
The bonus benefits of adding these foods into your diet is that they are low in calories and high in nutrients, minerals, and vitamins so if you are trying to lose weight or just maintain a healthy meal plan then these things can only add to your efforts!
Another way that others have achieved water weight loss is through the use of diuretics which come in the form of dietary supplements. Some require a doctor’s prescription but most of them are available at health food stores and some can even be found at local all-purpose stores.
Some of the top water loss supplements in the industry include:
Diuretics generally include some of the following in various combinations: celery, cranberry juice, apple cider vinegar, green tea, dandelion, dandelion leaf tea, juniper berries, fennel, parsley and nettle. Garlic is also used for eliminating excess water.
If you want to know how to lose weight fast at an even more advanced level (for instance if you are prepping for days at the beach or a wedding) then you will need to look into sweat-inducing exercises. Sweat is the body’s natural way of depleting excess water stores and shedding water weight.
Intense cardio exercises like biking, running, walking, or any other sports that require lots of movement can help to reduce the water reserves inside of you.
Adding any or all of the above will help to decrease your chances of appearing bloated and really allowing your muscles to shine through. Just make sure to have at least 8 glasses of water a day and you will be on the right path.

This is my number one go to site for sneaky tips and a little determination. Thanks Sam! What type of natural diuretics would you suggest? Not sure how these products stack up, but a gym buddy highly recommended Weight Care Patch to me. It’s amazing how much thinner she looks in only a week, So jealous lol. Nonetheless, great advice here 🙂 Love your free weekly newsletters, anticipating more!
Thanks for the awesome positive feedback Lisa. With respect to diuretics, I’m not a fan as it’s just making you lose water weight and just because it says it is natural doesn’t mean that natural chemicals can’t harm our body’s natural metabolism and regulatory systems. Train hard and eat well, that is the tried and true method that works 100% of the time and is sustainable without harming you in any way!
Anytime 🙂 I’ll keep that in mind. I definitely agree, hard work and a positive attitude will get you results. I’m roughly 15 lbs closer to my goal weight now and on my way to gaining half that in muscle so I couldn’t be happier, Thanks for all the support. Wish me luck!
