We all have busy lives with not enough time to do everything we need to do. But, it is absolutely essential to get the right amount of sleep every night. And it has to be quality sleep as well.
Sure, some people can function on 4 hours of sleep per night if they have a coffee in the morning, but they are not doing their body any favors.
In simple terms, your body repairs itself and your muscles when you are sleeping. It takes that time to do what it has to do in regards to muscle repair or even fat loss.
But, if you are not giving it enough time to do that, you are really short changing yourself. Not only that, but not getting enough sleep can effect your mental state of mind, and can drain your energy so you can’t give 100% in the gym every time you work out!

So, how much sleep do you really need per night to allow for maximum recovery time? Well, it varies from person to person, but shooting for a minimum of 6-7 hours is a good idea. You will have to use some trial and error to see what works best for you.
You want to be able to wake up fully rested and feeling good, while not spending too much time sleeping. That’s really all there is to it!
