New Year’s Health Tips

A new year is here, and with it comes new goals and new aspirations – many of which probably involve your health.

In fact, health-related resolutions are always the most popular, from losing weight to building muscle and even improving sleep. In this article, I’m going to outline some great health tips for 2013. Whether it’s a New Year’s resolution or just a little inspiration you need, these tips are a great place to start!

Top 10 New Year’s Health Tips

Health Tip #1 – Start Your Day Green

If you’re looking for an easy way to jumpstart your metabolism, improve your body’s fat-burning potential, and boost your energy all at once, give Magic Matcha Green Tea a try. It’s an easy way to get more out of your day, and it’s packed full of healthy antioxidants too!

Health Tip #2 – Cleanse Your Kitchen

To get 2013 started on the right foot, give your kitchen a good cleaning. Look for any food items that are packaged, canned, or frozen, and consider replacing them with fresh items and ingredients. Processed and preserved foods aren’t any help to your health!

Health Tip #3 – Replace Bad Fats with Good Fats

To lose weight and get in shape, it isn’t necessary to cut out fat altogether. But you do need to get rid of the bad fats, like trans and saturated fats. Replace them with healthy fats like these Optimum Fish Oil Softgels, and you’ll actually burn more fat!

Health Tip #4 – Water Up

You’ve heard it before, but drinking more water does wonders for your health. This is a great resolution for 2013, and an easy one!

Health Tip #5 – Give Organic a Try

The research is still out on organic foods and their benefits for your health. But trust me, organic produce tastes better! And as far as I’m concerned, I’d rather avoid putting any additional chemicals into my body. You’ll also notice that packaged organic foods have fewer ingredients and are more in line with a whole foods diet!

Health Tip #6 – Get Outside

Everyone knows they need to exercise to support a healthy lifestyle, but here’s a tip for 2013: Exercise more outdoors! Not only is this an easy way to get motivated about fitness, but the fresh air and sunshine will help relieve stress.

Health Tip #7 – Stretch Daily

The benefits of stretching can’t be understated. Not only does stretching improve your flexibility and prevent injury, it also aids in the growth of lean muscle mass. At the very least, spend 5 minutes stretching every morning, and make sure you stretch after every workout.

Health Tip #8 – Lift Heavier

To start your 2013 workouts on the right foot, make a commitment to increasing the amount of weight you’re lifting during your resistance exercises. Lifting heavier is a great way to improve strength and build lean muscle mass.

Health Tip #9 – Get More Protein

The benefits of a protein-rich diet go beyond muscle support. Protein also gives your metabolism a major boost and improves your weight loss results. An easy way to get more protein in your diet is with a high quality protein supplement like Optimum 100% Casein Protein. Have a shake in the morning or use it for a mid-afternoon snack.

Health Tip #10 – Pay Attention to Your Sleep

Your sleep has an impact on nearly everything you do, from your diet to your exercise routine. The New Year is a great time to make a real commitment to your sleep. Trust me, getting a solid 7 hours a night of quality sleep will make 2013 your best year yet!
