Weight Loss Motivation Tips: Refresh

Weight Loss Motivation Tips: Refresh

It’s pretty easy during this time of year to lose the motivation that really burns inside to keep you in your weight loss and training journey but this article is a reflection of things that are keeping you down and how to overcome them.

What we all will find especially challenging is the battle with the holidays and all the food that we joke about consuming. I’m all for this but there is also a break-point which shouldn’t be ignored.

You know what I’m talking about right? It’s kind of funny because we work so hard and stay on this gravy train but when we are faced with the gravy with friends and family then all hell breaks loose and day by day the motivation factor jumps ship.

Time for a refresh and even I will be taking some of my own medicine…

Weight Loss Motivation Tips: The Mirror

We all perceive our bodies a certain way and even the mirror can lie to us sometimes if our head space is in the wrong area.

Remember to keep this part in check. I can’t stress how important it is.

Are you working out and being healthy for others, or are you doing it to be the best you can be and even laugh at it when a new exercise or even yoga move is beyond your reach.

I don’t know about you but this exact quality of knowing your limitations and humoring yourself when it seems almost impossible is the kind of quality that I have always revered in my mentors. What I find is so cool about this perspectives is that it is the formula for success. Not what you know, but knowing what you don’t know and the best of the best always admit this.

Make this a life long challenge and not just “I will work out until I have lost 3 inches” kind of mentality. Next time you look in the mirror think about this and envision yourself always being better regardless of age or any physical limitation. I promise you that it will make you feel good about yourself and motivate you in ways you may have never discovered before.

Weight Loss Motivation Tips: Sleep and Sleeping In

I’m definitely with you on this one but sleep seems to be always one of those things that stumbles even the best of us. We have so many different things coming at us all the time and sometimes it just seems like there is never enough time to get it all done.

If you’re on the other side of the spectrum and have all the time of the world chances are you don’t respect this free time and tend to stay up at nights watching tv and then sleeping in to make up for it. Sound familiar?

Whatever the case here the point is that sleep is a critical component of our motivation. When we’re well rested is also when we have the strongest will power and feel like we can overcome anything. You know the drill on this one, try to sleep and wake up at the same time every day of the week and chances are you won’t have to worry about sleep again.

One other golden tip that I still don’t always implement is to write down all your thoughts before bed so you can tell your brain to turn off for the night. As much as we dismiss this one it totally does work.

Weight Loss Motivation Tips: Supplements

It’s kind of a funny mentality but when I see people who drink coffee all the time I always think it’s backwards because it will make them crash by the end of the work day and that is when all their motivation is gone to get to the gym.

You might want to try this trick, don’t have any coffee until just 30 minutes before your workout. Obviously this technique shouldn’t be done all the time but I can definitely help you on those days when motivation is no where to be seen. Just be cautious of it, if you find it disturbs your sleep.

Of course, that is why these super crazy energy drinks do so well in the market, they have just the right amount of caffeine along with creatine and nitric oxide to give you a killer pump while you’re working out. The top two are SuperPump 250 and Jack3d but you may also want to watch out for Cellucor’s latest super motivating drink – Cellucor M5 Extreme.

Weight Loss Motivation Tips: Conclusion

I hope you found this motivational and gave you some new thoughts on how you can overcome those hardest of moments when working out is the last thing on your mind. Put it all together, a new mentality on being your best, the power of good sleep and coffee/energy boosters only when you need it the most.
