Fat-Blasting Workout Tools that You'll Use Forever

Taking Your Workouts to the Next Level

Today we’re going to look 5 pieces of fitness equipment that you definitely should have as a staple to getting easy yet serious results at the comfort of your own home. The reason it’s important to have these at your disposal is because there are going to be days where you just don’t want to get out to the gym, outside or have very limited time and want to get your 30 minute quota in for the day.

Make the investment all at once, or add a new piece each month for the next 5 months. By keeping these items on hand, you’ll have fewer excuses to skip your workout, and be more likely to stay on track with your workout goals.

5 Fat-Blasting Fitness Tools You Need to Have

1. Jump Rope

This one has topped my list for a while now. It’s one of the oldest pieces of fitness equipment around, and it’s just as useful today as it was 50 years ago. Although it’s less versatile than some of the other items on this list, the calories and fat you burn by jumping rope is significant. It also makes for an ideal warm-up or cool-down before or after your workout. And it travels well!

2. Stability Ball

Next on my list is the stability or exercise ball, an incredibly versatile piece of workout equipment that is especially effective for working your abs and core. Keeping one on hand at home can actually offer a complete total body workout when you’re short on time. You can also travel pretty easily with this one by quickly deflating it and stuffing it into your suitcase.

3. Bosu Ball

The bosu is a close cousin to the stability ball, but it offers an entirely different range of exercises. It’s especially effective for balancing work, challenging a variety of muscles you don’t normally work while engaging your muscles in more common weight training and total body exercises. The bosu is a newer fitness tool, but it’s one that’s continued to grow in popularity over the years. Today it’s seen as a pretty essential piece of equipment by personal trainers.

4. Kettlebells

The kettlebell may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to home workout equipment, but I actually recommend investing in a few of these before buying dumbbells and other weights. They’re way more versatile and they’re a little easier to move around and store. Kettlebells have also grown in popularity over the years, offering total body workouts in addition to basic exercises like bicep curls and tricep presses.

5. Heart Rate Monitor

This last one is a little less bulky, but incredibly useful. This simple device allows you to monitor your heart in real time, while you’re working out and burning fat. The value of the heart rate monitor is to help you get in the zone, and ensure that you’re challenging your fitness to the max. I don’t recommend worrying too much about the fat-burning zone. In the end, getting your heart rate up and boosting your output is best in the end, and will result in the most calories burned overall.
