Holiday Fitness Plan

It’s never too late to start with a smart fitness plan to keep you feeling and looking your best during the holidays. We’re going to look at a very smart and forward-thinking strategy which will serve one goal – to keep your body fat as low as possible.

I’m with you on this one simply because I love to eat all the festive goodies that come our way even though most of them won’t be the low-fat & low-carb variety we usually aim for.

The great thing about this plan is that you can start implementing it today so you can relax and enjoy when the holiday comes.

Are you ready for it? Let’s go!

Holiday Fitness Plan: The Workout

The first part of this plan includes bringing in a high intensity cardio workout into your weekly regimen. We’re going to aim for not only one but two of these a week because we know this is what will blast through fat like no other fitness strategy.

This high intensity interval plan can be implemented best on a treadmill but you can also use any cardio machine of your choice. Now these are suggested speeds but you can vary the speed according to your current fitness plan.

The point is that at the peak of this workout you get to a speed that you can only keep up for 30 seconds.

It looks something like this…

1 minute – 7.0 mph (base speed for our interval training)
30 seconds – 8.0 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 8.5 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 9.0 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 9.5 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 10.0 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 9.5 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 9.0 mph
30 seconds – 7.0 mph
30 seconds – 8.5 mph
2 minutes – 7.0 mph

That’s a total of 10.5 minutes but the crazy thing is that because you pushed yourself right to the edge your body will be burning through fat at an accelerated pace for at least a couple hours after you stop this session!

Ok, so it doesn’t matter what time of day or which days of the week you do this, the point is that you do it at least twice a week from here on out. And what about diet plan you ask?

Holiday Fitness Plan: The Nutrition Plan

Ok, so we need to boost our metabolism in as many ways as we can. I’m going to make it super easy for you and remind you of a very popular article on this site – 5 Foods That Speed Metabolism.

Aim to have at least 2 or 3 of these foods every day and we’re going to make some serious progress in burning fat with no if’s, and’s, or but’s!

I’ll give you a further secret about this list. Whey protein or protein powder (including vegetarian sources or artificial-free sources as highlighted in my article Best Protein Powders) will allow you to keep in moderation your food intake during the actual holidays.

All you have to do is have a protein smoothie a couple hours before events where food will really be in your face and you will have complete control over how much you reach for. Try it! It will work!

Conclusion: Holiday Fitness Plan

I’m going to keep it as simple as this as I know when it comes to holidays simplicity is key to success. Just put this plan in place and take pride in the rocking body you’ve developed for this year’s holidays. It will be worth it when you look in the mirror won’t it?
