I agree with you that if an athlete is eating adequate protein from lean meats and eggs that they will get the best results when wanting to add the essential amino acids that protein provides for muscle recovery and growth.  The only challenge is keeping the fat calories count low if they want to keep body fat percentage really low.  That is why whey protein is such a great substitute and of course that it can be cheaper to have a whey protein smoothie over a 5th steak for the week!</description>
